#ultrasystems was pleased to hear Los Angeles World Airports Board Commissioner Webb speak about his passion to make sure the infusion of upcoming capital improvement projects benefit local communities and boost their local economy as well. With $1B in project developments for 2024 alone, the LAWA team expect to help support small businesses and create local jobs though partnerships they highlighted with Los Angeles Southwest College at the Construction Forecast event last week. #UltraSystems staff joined Orange County's District 5 Supervisor Katrina Foley, representing 650,000 residents, on a health walk led by OC Parks Ranger Rick Shaffer at the Laguna Beach Nix Nature Center. On the trail walk over to the naturally occurring Barbara Lake, Ms. Foley remarked that "she started the Wellness Wednesday Walks six months ago with OC Parks staff to help her constituents stay healthy and get to know south county's parks better" where OC Parks is working to preserve natural and cultural resources for participants to enjoy outdoor education and wilderness exploration.

#UltraSystems worked on the Program Environmental Impact Report and Environmental Impact Statement (EIR/EIS) for the CA High Speed Rail line to/from the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) facility way back in 2005. It was an honor to be led on a tour highlighting #sustainability efforts by Rudy Emami, Director of Public Works at City of Anaheim, through this amazing infrastructure development with The Association of Women in Water, Energy and Environment (AWWEE) & the Women in Public Finance today to learn how transit rides are going without harsh impacts to the environment.

Please help us welcome Rodrigo Jacobo to the UltraSystems Environmental Inc. team. He joins our Cultural Resources group as a Historian/ Cultural Specialist. Rodrigo has a Master's Degree in History from National University with an emphasis on Latin America/US History. As an Adjunct History Professor at Palomar College in San Diego, he taught courses like US History, Chicano Studies and History of the Americas. Rodrigo is a California native with a deep interest in ensuring the preservation of historical infrastructure and architecture. We're excited to have Rodrigo's expertise as part of our team.

#UltraSystems attended the WTS Orange County presentation yesterday led by public works leaders from the cities of Anaheim, Irvine, and Laguna Niguel. Our hometown Irvine’s Active Transportation and Transit update included the latest plans for increasing protected bike lanes, an additional intracity iShuttle route, and an inaugural open streets event to be held on May 4th, 2024.

Last night, the Buena Park City Council voted 5-0 to adopt an Initial Study / Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) prepared by #UltraSystems, and circulated in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), passing a General Plan Amendment for a zone change from Community Shopping (CS) to General Mixed Use (GMU) to allow the development of a 55-unit affordable housing development and associated site improvements on an approximately 1.35-acre site located at 7101 Lincoln Avenue. The community is looking forward to the C&C Development project rounding out their area to increase housing options and economic prosperity.

#UltraSystems joined Lynn Capouya Landscape Architects Team at the UCI Anti-cancer Challenge today. As a cancer survivor herself, Lynn formed a team for this year's walk and shared that we are "truly fortunate to have such a fine resource such as UCI available to us in our own backyard" for cancer research and treatment.
