GATX Lease Renewal Addendum
The Los Angeles Harbor Department (LAHD) prepared an Environmental Impact Report for the renewal of the lease to GATX for its Marine Oil Terminal at Berths 171-173, on Mormon Island in the Port of Los Angeles. The Draft EIR underwent the 45-day public review period but before it was certified and the project was approved, the LAHD decided against renewal of the lease. Instead, the decision was made to have GATX vacate the property in order for the LAHD to redevelop the area for other maritime related uses. UltraSystems prepared an Addendum to the EIR which adopted the No Project Alternative. The No Project Alternative of the EIR involved the decommissioning and demolition of the facility.
