Transmission Line Dismantling
San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) dismantled a 1.7-mile-long Imperial Solar Energy Center (ISEC) South East-West Transmission Line (E-W Line) on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land. UltraSystems completed biological, archaeological, and paleontological monitoring; Worker Environmental Awareness Program (WEAP) training; and coordinated field personnel to monitor compliance with mitigation measures specified in the SDG&E Environmental Compliance Program (ECP). UltraSystems developed streamlined protocols for field monitoring, training, personnel safety, resource tracking, and GIS mapping; and maintained a database to catalog required documentation. The BLM was thoroughly satisfied with the environmental protections and protocols implemented by UltraSystems. The project was successfully completed on time and within budget.
