UltraSystems will prepare all Technical Analyses in compliance with CEQA

The City of Redlands, California has contracted UltraSystems to prepare an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the construction of a new Kaiser facility that would include both a hospital and medical office buildings.

Kaiser is proposing a new complex of medical offices to better meet the needs of the ever- growing community in San Bernadino County.  The development is being handled by architecture firm, SLAM. Their design for the new buildings, reflect the natural desert surroundings and include drought tolerant landscaping to minimize the need for irrigation.

The project in Redlands follows Kaiser Permanente’s recent commitment of $1.7 billion in medical facility improvements in Riverside County. The expansion there will include new hospitals in Riverside and Moreno Valley, new medical offices in Murrieta and a new medical facility in Wildomar. As communities’ healthcare needs have grown, Kaiser has responded by constructing new facilities to accommodate expanded services.

The new office buildings in Redlands will be located at 1301 California Street. The project is currently proposed as a four-phase master plan development. Phase I will construct a 4-story 165,000 square foot Medical Office Building/Ambulatory Services Center and parking lots. Additional site improvements for the new building will include driveways, walkways, landscaping and lighting.

In Phase II, a 7-story 400,000 square foot hospital and a 2-story 35,000 square foot Central Utility Plant building would be constructed with accompanying parking structure and parking lots. Additional medical offices will be constructed in Phase III of the Master Plan. Any expansion of the hospital that might be required has been accounted for in Phase IV of the development if needed.

Before preparing the EIR, UltraSystems will provide an Initial Study. Technical analyses will also be performed including a Cultural Resources Survey Report, Paleontological Resources Records Search, a Noise and Vibrations Assessment and a Biological Resources Assessment.

UltraSystems is pleased to again be part of the development of another much-needed medical facility. UltraSystems recognizes the value of being able to provide medical care for expanding communities.
