Berths 48–52 Improvement Project Air Quality and Traffic Studies
This project involved improvements to Berths 48-52 to provide the facilities and infrastructure severely needed to serve break bulk handling operations with more efficiency and flexibility. UltraSystems strategically teamed with Meyer, Mohaddes Associates (MMA) to provide specialized air quality and traffic/transportation technical studies in support of an Environmental Document (ED) for the improvement project. Both studies focused on short-term construction and long-term operational impacts, significant project and cumulative impacts, and mitigation measures. The air quality study included emissions from cargo handling equipment, heavy-duty diesel trucks, trains, and ships.
