LA-RICS – 232 sites

UltraSystems was selected by LA-RICS to prepare a Master Environmental Assessment (EA) under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) for the entire system, as well as work leading to a statutory exemption under provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). UltraSystems prepared the EA following the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) regulations implementing NEPA found at Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 1500-1508 (40 CFR 1500-1508). We also performed a Biological Assessment for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and federal Endangered Species Act (ESA). These reports analyzed, disclosed, and recommended mitigation for impacts to 231 proposed sites. UltraSystems also conducted work leading to a statutory exemption from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) which was provided by Assembly Bill 1486 and expires January 1, 2017 Per Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act 2009 revised guidelines, the UltraSystems cultural resources team analyzed the historic and prehistoric cultural resources at each of the 231 proposed sites, documenting conditions through a combination of architectural, archaeological and paleontological field visits and literature search, consultations with county, municipal and state agencies, and public outreach.
