Peer Review of Kaiser Laboratory Cooling Tower – Noise Studies
For the City of Chino Hills, UltraSystems peer-reviewed a noise impact analysis for two newly installed cooling towers at a new medical laboratory facility next to a residential neighborhood. After carefully reviewing the study’s methods, data, and conclusions, as well as the results of our own independent measurements, we determined that problems with the study’s ambient noise sampling design and equipment made it impossible to isolate impacts from the cooling towers from impacts from a nearby freeway. Finally, UltraSystems proposed a new sampling design that would determine how much noise was coming from each source.
